Here we have a really unique and interesting Epiphone SG G-310. Made in Korea in 1995, it is fitted with Japanese Matsumuto pickups and finished in a bright and stunning Fire Engine Red with a black ‘Batwing’ scratchplate.
The scratchplate has ‘XIII’ carved into it and, despite originally thinking we’d replace it for a mint condition one, there was something about it that caught our attention and it felt right to leave it on.
The guitar is in fair condition, with some understandable cosmetic damage bearing in mind it’s 25-year touring life. All of it has been captured in the photos and none of it affects the health or playability of the instrument. If anything, it sort of adds to the overall character and vibe of the guitar.
Introduced in 1989, the Epiphone G-Series is a line of Gibson-authorised copies of the famous Gibson SG. Common features found on most Epiphone G-Series guitars include a double-cutaway Mahogany body with humbucker pickups and a rosewood fretboard. The G-Series originally consisted of only two guitars, the Epiphone G-310 and Epiphone G-400. It eventually expanded to include the SG Special and several variations of the G-400.
