This vintage Yamaha FG-110 acoustic guitar is a beautiful part of folk guitar history. Made between 1967 – 1974 in Taiwan, it is equipped with a spruce top, agathis back/sides and a rosewood fretboard.
This is one of the yellow label models (there was a red label model made in Nippon, Japan which command much higher asking prices).
All original parts, including the factory depth saddle, unfiled (see condition description below)
This guitar is in excellent condition for its age with a few minor scuffs and marks (mainly to the body – see photos). Also one small surface chip to the wood on the headstock. Otherwise it is in great condition for its age.
Also, the action is currently very high. This is due to the guitar still having the original unfiled factory saddle still in perfect condition and intact. This allowed the buyer to file down to their custom requirements. In order to lower the action as much as possible, we have adjusted the truss rod as much as we feel comfortable doing so on a guitar of this age. If the buyer desires, we can lower the action further by filing the saddle down before collection/postage.
