This unique and striking JT-55P comes from the standard JT-50 series made by Jay Turser. This brand is competing in the budget and intermediate classes on the market and is quite successful with its distinct mix of quality, reliability, good tone and moderate price point.

The JT-55P is considered to be one of the best examples of Jay Turser’s guitar building style and quality. This double-cut guitar clearly draws inspiration from the classic Gibson and Epiphone SG (a classic and beautiful instrument indeed). It has a solid mahogany body, paired with a set in maple neck and the body comes with a flat top with a standard two-piece tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail.

With a 22-fret rosewood fretboard, paired with the P90 pickup in the neck position, this guitar is creamy, warm and bright sounding. Switch to the double Hot Rails humbucker in the bridge position and you’ve got rock tone for days.

COMPANY HISTORY:

Jay Turser Guitars is an American musical instruments manufacturer, currently a brand of Davitt & Hanser (a division of JAM Industries). Since its inception, Jay Turser has been producing electric and acoustic guitars. In 2008, Jay Turser signed a deal with Graph Tech Guitar Labs (the world’s leading guitar nut and saddle maker by then) to incorporate its technology to instruments manufactured. Jay Turser was a subsidiary of the U.S. Music Corporation (located in Buffalo Grove, Illinois) until it was acquired by Canadian corporate group Jam Industries in 2009. Their guitars are almost entirely made in China, sourcing quality woods from around the world.

CONDITION:

This guitar is definitely in used condition, with multiple signs of use and wear from its previous life. We have tried to capture all scratches, blemishes and dents in our photos as we always try to be honest and thorough when describing the condition of our instruments. Although showing signs of use, we have given it a thorough clean, oiled the fretboard, carried out a full electrical service, setup the guitar and restrung it too. The result? A genuinely road-worn and beautiful guitar which has been brought back to life and is ready for many more years of rocking!
